mellina's eggnog waffles

These are my family's "holiday" waffles, although I make them throughout the year. Eating these waffles give you a warm, safe feeling, like a perfect (breakfast) comfort food. I sometimes make them with fried chicken for a Chicken and Waffles dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 - eggs
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 3/4 cup warm eggnog
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla butter & nut flavoring by mccormick

How To Make mellina's eggnog waffles

  • Step 1
    In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar; set aside. Preheat waffle iron to desired temperature.
  • Step 2
    Add the warm milk, eggnog, melted butter, egg and vanillas into the flour mixture; beat until blended.
  • Step 3
    Ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden brown and crisp.
  • Step 4
    TIP(S): You can purchase canned eggnog and have these waffles year-round.
