These are my family's "holiday" waffles, although I make them throughout the year. Eating these waffles give you a warm, safe feeling, like a perfect (breakfast) comfort food. I sometimes make them with fried chicken for a Chicken and Waffles dinner.

    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    coarse kosher salt
  • 4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2
    eggs
  • 3/4 c
    warm milk
  • 3/4 c
    warm eggnog
  • 1/3 c
    butter, melted
  • 3/4 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 tsp
    vanilla butter & nut flavoring by mccormick

How to Make Mellina's Eggnog Waffles

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar; set aside. Preheat waffle iron to desired temperature.
  2. Add the warm milk, eggnog, melted butter, egg and vanillas into the flour mixture; beat until blended.
  3. Ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden brown and crisp.
  4. TIP(S): You can purchase canned eggnog and have these waffles year-round.
