maria's yummy chicken
(1 RATING)
I really enjoyed and so did my boyfriend. I got some of the ideas from my former Culinary Instructor. I love to cook and bake. It's a spin off of the traditional barbecue chicken. I would also recommend covering the chicken while you bake it so the chicken doesn't dry out while it's cooking. The vegetables will also help with the juiciness of the chicken. I am hoping to make this for my parents when I get to see them and I hope they will like it as well. Hope you all enjoy it and please feel free to let me know what you think and what changes if any you made so I can give it a try. Enjoy!!

How To Make maria's yummy chicken
-
Step 1Pour the barbecue sauce in a small bowl and add sugar and Tabasco Sauce and mix together (the barbecue sauce should taste sweet with a hint of spice)
-
Step 2Put a piece of tin foil in the bottom of baking dish and brush a light layer of sauce over it this will help it from not sticking to the bottom and makes for an easy clean-up
-
Step 3Cut peppers and onion into thin strips and spread them evenly on the bottom of the dish (I put them on the top but it is easier if they are on the bottom)
-
Step 4Take excess fat off of chicken if there is any then place the chicken on top of the vegetables
-
Step 5Put a layer of sauce over the chicken and bake in a 375 degree oven for a half hour
-
Step 6When the half hour is up take it out and check the temp it should be 165 degrees if it isn't put another layer of sauce over it and put it back in for another 15 minutes or until chicken reaches 165 degrees
-
Step 7If you have any sauce left over put another layer of it over the chicken and serve
-
Step 8Enjoy!!
