Ingredients
- 1 (3 pound) whole chicken
- 1 1/2 tablespoons barbecue seasoning, divided
- 1 package dry onion soup mix
- 3 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon Creole seasoning
- 4 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1 cup sweet honey barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon sweet and tangy seasoning
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cups crushed barbecue potato chips
How To Make louisiana cowboy roasted chicken

Step 1In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon barbecue seasoning, crushed red pepper flakes,creole seasoning, and black pepper; mix well.

Step 2Rinse chicken thoroughly inside and out under cold running water and remove the giblets. Pat dry with paper towels.

Step 3Whisk barbecue sauce, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, sweet and tangy seasoning, lime juice, and remaining barbecue seasoning in a medium bowl for 2 minutes until combined.

Step 4Place into a large plate and rub it with olive oil and spice mixture all over the whole chicken. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Step 5Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 6Remove the plastic wrap. Place into a small roasting pan and spread the sauce mixture all over the spiced chicken.

Step 7Sprinkle with crushed potato chips.

Step 8Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Cool completely for 15 minutes before serving.
