Ingredients

  • 2 - chickens, breasts, thighs and drumsticks from both
  • - flour
  • - salt
  • - pepper
  • pinch ginger
  • 6 - carrots, peeled and quartered
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 10.75 ounces beef bouillon, canned
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 6 small onions, peeled
  • 6 - potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sauteed
  • 8 ounces english peas, canned

How To Make lone star chicken casserole

  • Step 1
    Mix flour, salt, pepper and ginger and dredge chicken pieces in the seasoned flour.
  • Step 2
    Brown the floured chicken in a skillet with 4 tablespoons of melted butter; remove pieces when brown and save the drippings.
  • Step 3
    Put chicken pieces in a large casserole; add flour to the drippings, making a paste.
  • Step 4
    Stir in water, beef bouillon, ketchup, worcestershire sauce, bay leaves and whole onions.
  • Step 5
    Pour over chicken and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Add potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms; bake 35 minutes more.
  • Step 7
    Add peas and bake 10 minutes longer.
