Ingredients

chicken, whole
"just a pinch" of salt
"just a pinch" of pepper
1 tsp
oregano

garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp
butter
1/4 c
water
3 Tbsp
lemon juice

How to Make Lemon Roast Chicken

Step-by-Step

  • 1Wash chicken, pat dry, season with salt and pepper.
  • 2Sprinkle half the oregano and garlic inside cavity.
  • 3Melt butter in large frying pan.
  • 4Brown chicken on all sides.
  • 5Transfer to crockpot.
  • 6Sprinkle with oregano and garlic.
  • 7Add water to fry pan, stir to loosen brown bits.
  • 8Pour into crockpot.
  • 9Cover.
  • 10Cook on Low 8 hours.
  • 11Add lemon juice in the last hour of cooking.
  • 12Transfer chicken to cutting board.
  • 13Skim fat.
  • 14Pour juice into sauce bowl.
  • 15Carve bird.
  • 16Serve with some juice spooned over chicken.
