lacquered roasted chicken

Maltose is the original way to make this chicken but you have to melt it and if anything cold gets on it, it will harden up. Either way its juicy delicious chicken.

Ingredients For lacquered roasted chicken

  • 1
    whole chicken
  • 1/2 c
    honey or maltose
  • 2 Tbsp
    each soy sauce and salt

How To Make lacquered roasted chicken

    Place the chicken on a rack inside a rimmed baking sheet. Mix the honey and soy sauce together and with a brush coat the chicken with the mixture. Let sit for 15 minutes then coat again and sprinkle with salt.

    Let sit uncovered in fridge for at least 12 hours or up to 2 days.

    Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes or until internal temp. of 165 degrees. Let sit 20 minutes before carving
