I made this sauce for a rib burn-off in cleveland ohio in 1989.The ribs took 3rd place and my sauce took 1st place.Not to tangy and not to sweet.I make a gallon so my kids can take it home.

  • 1 qt
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/8 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/8 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    your favorite hot sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1 1/2 c
    orange marmalade

How to Make Karl's Barbecue Sauce


  1. Mix all ingredient in a heavy pot and simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. You can store this in a glass jar in the refrigerator for 4 months.But it will be gone before that.
