I made this sauce for a rib burn-off in cleveland ohio in 1989.The ribs took 3rd place and my sauce took 1st place.Not to tangy and not to sweet.I make a gallon so my kids can take it home. Posted 1/27/13

Ingredients

  • 1 quart ketchup
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/8 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/8 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon your favorite hot sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1 1/2 cups orange marmalade

How To Make karl's barbecue sauce

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredient in a heavy pot and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Step 2
    You can store this in a glass jar in the refrigerator for 4 months.But it will be gone before that.
