italian roasted chicken
I created a new roasted chicken recipe with an Italian flavor, which is based on Kinders' Italian Chicken seasoning. It's great with a side of spaghetti and garlic bread.

Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup margarine, divided
- 6 tablespoons Italian chicken seasoning, divided
- 3 pounds whole chicken, giblets removed
- 1 medium green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 medium red onion, peeled and sliced
- 3 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon pizza seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 cup whipped cream cheese
- 1 packet Italian salad dressing mix
How To Make italian roasted chicken

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2Add water, 1/2 cup margarine, and 2 tablespoons Italian chicken seasoning in a roasting pan.

Step 3Stuff chopped green bell peppers and sliced red onion under the chicken skin.

Step 4Spread remaining margarine all over the chicken and season with 2 tablespoons Italian chicken seasoning, garlic powder, and pizza seasoning; rub well.

Step 5Place the chicken in a prepared roasting pan. Bake uncovered for 1 hour.

Step 6In a medium bowl, whisk heavy cream, Dijon mustard, whipped cream cheese, Italian salad dressing mix and remaining Italian chicken seasoning together for 2 minutes until blended.

Step 7Take the chicken out of the oven. Spread the Italian cream mixture all over the chicken and baste with chicken drippings. Cover with aluminum foil.

Step 8Return to the oven for 30 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
