Hubby and I were hungry one day so I looked in the freezer and found some hot links and came up with this recipe. Hubby named it! LOL

prep time 5 Min
cook time 10 Min
method ---
yield 4 "Hot Dogs"

Ingredients

  • 4 - hot link sausages
  • - mustard, ketchup and any other condiments you like.
  • FOR THE CHEESEY ONION TOPPING:
  • 1 cup colby/cheddar cheese (marbled)
  • 1/4 - onion, sliced
  • 1 - splash of beer (i used key stone ice)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

How To Make "hot pants" dogs

  • Step 1
Place the hot link sausages into a pan, fill the pan 1/4 way with water. Cook sausages until done about 10 minutes.
  • Step 2
In a sauce pan, add the butter, onions and beer. Let the onions cook until they turn translucent. Add the cheese to the onions and let melt and cook until it turns into a pan size "cookie".
  • Step 3
When the cheesey onion cookie is done, cut it into 4 strips, put the sausage into a bun and add the cheese strips and any other kind of topping you would like. Enjoy!
