This is a long-time family favorite, and makes a great potluck dish. It often plays a role in holiday parties and other get-togethers, and works equally well as a main dish, side dish, or even an appetizer.

Ingredients For hot chicken salad

  • 4 c
    cubed or shredded cooked chicken
  • 1/2 c
    diced celery
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    poultry seasoning
  • 4 tsp
    grated onion
  • 3 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 2 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1/2 lb
    american cheese, grated
  • 2 c
    crushed potato chips

How To Make hot chicken salad

  • 1
    Combine all ingredients except the shredded American cheese and crushed potato chips.

    Pile mixture lightly into a glass baking dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheese, then top with crushed potato chips.
