Ingredients

  • 4 - chicken breasts, halves
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • COATING INGREDIENTS
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • pinch pepper
  • SAUCE INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 5/8 teaspoon lemon peel
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

How To Make honey pecan chicken

  • Step 1
    Soak chicken pieces overnight in buttermilk (or at least several hours).
  • Step 2
    Mix flour, garlic powder, little cayenne pepper, and pepper; dredge chicken in this.
  • Step 3
    Let chicken \"rest\" after coating with flour mix for bout 30 minutes (so coating \"sticks\").
  • Step 4
    Heat small amount oil in large fry pan.
  • Step 5
    Cook about 8 minutes per side (for boneless pieces, longer for with bone) until no longer pink.
  • Step 6
    Make Sauce: mix melted butter, honey, lemon peel and bourbon.
  • Step 7
    Mix and heat until warm; pour over cooked chicken and top with chopped pecans!
