This tastes like a dish you would get from a Chinese restaurant, sweet and sour chicken! I served this with a side of white rice. This recipe came from a food friend named Sday5 and its perfect! I added my photo!

Ingredients

  • 4 large chicken cutlets-cut into bite sized pieces
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup corn oil
  • 1/2 cup green peppers-chopped
  • 1/2 cup red peppers-chopped
  • 4 - stalks celery-chopped
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks-canned
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE INGREDIENTS
  • 3 tablespoons cornstrach
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

How To Make hawaiian chicken

  • Step 1
    Beat together eggs and flour. Then dip chicken into this batter.
  • Step 2
    Heat oil in skillet and fry chicken slowly. After all chicken pieces have been cooked, drain chicken onto paper towels and remove excess oil from pan.
  • Step 3
    Add the peppers, celery and pineapple chunks to the pan. Then put the fried chicken pieces on top. Do not stir. Pour the pineapple juice and the 1/4 cup of broth, over this. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Step 4
    In a seperate small sauce pan, combine Sweet and Sour sauce ingredients. Cook until thick. Pour over the meat and vegetables just before serving.
  • Step 5
    Serve with a side dish of white rice.
