This makes for a great meal any time of year. You can put in all shrimp, all chicken or all sausage. We like it best with a little bit of all 3 meats and alot of okra for a very hearty dish.

Ingredients
- 2 - onions, sliced
- 1 - green pepper, diced
- 1-2 package frozen cut okra or 1-2 lbs fresh, stemmed & cut into 1" pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1-2 pound any combination of the following: shrimp, diced chicken and/or sliced sausage
How To Make gumbo

Step 1Saute vegetable in butter until done.

Step 2Add flour & stir until bubbly.

Step 3Remove from heat & stir in all ingredients, except shrimp.

Step 4Simmer, uncovered for 45 minutes on low.

Step 5Add shrimp & cook until no longer pink.

Step 6Remove the bay leaf & discard.

Step 7Serve over cooked rice.
