Here is another version of ribs with a tropical fruit, this one's really good, too!!! Finger lickin' good . . . YUMMMMM!!!

Ingredients

10 to 12 lb
pork ribs or country-style ribs
4 inch piece of ginger root, sliced

MARINADE:

1 c
soy sauce, light
1 c
oyster sauce
1 c
ketchup
3/4 c
sugar
3/4 c
brown sugar
1/2 tsp
chinese five spice powder
3 Tbsp
ginger, minced
2 Tbsp
garlic, minced
1 can(s)
frozen guava nectar, thawed
green onions, chopped for garnish

How to Make GUAVA-LICIOUS RIBS OR CHICKEN

Step-by-Step

  • 1Place the ribs and sliced ginger root in a large pot, fill with water to cover the ribs.
  • 2Bring to a boil and let cook for 20 to 30 minutes. Drain the water. Let cool a little.
  • 3In a large heavy duty zip-lock bag, combine all the ingredients for the marinade. Make sure that the sugars are completely dissolved.
  • 4Place the ribs in the marinade and refrigerate overnight.
  • 5Grill the ribs or broil in the oven. Baste the ribs well with the marinade, while cooking.
  • 6Place on a serving platter and sprinkle with green onions.
