Here is another version of ribs with a tropical fruit, this one's really good, too!!! Finger lickin' good . . . YUMMMMM!!!

Ingredients

  • 10 to 12 pounds pork ribs or country-style ribs
  • - 4 inch piece of ginger root, sliced
  • MARINADE:
  • 1 cup soy sauce, light
  • 1 cup oyster sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon chinese five spice powder
  • 3 tablespoons ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1 can frozen guava nectar, thawed
  • - green onions, chopped for garnish

How To Make guava-licious ribs or chicken

  • Step 1
    Place the ribs and sliced ginger root in a large pot, fill with water to cover the ribs.
  • Step 2
    Bring to a boil and let cook for 20 to 30 minutes. Drain the water. Let cool a little.
  • Step 3
    In a large heavy duty zip-lock bag, combine all the ingredients for the marinade. Make sure that the sugars are completely dissolved.
  • Step 4
    Place the ribs in the marinade and refrigerate overnight.
  • Step 5
    Grill the ribs or broil in the oven. Baste the ribs well with the marinade, while cooking.
  • Step 6
    Place on a serving platter and sprinkle with green onions.
