Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 1/2 cup japanese soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • scallions for garish

How To Make grilled chicken yakitori

  • Step 1
    Soak wooded skewers in water for 30 minutes. Get your grill hot.
  • Step 2
    Mix the sake, soy sauce and mirin and brown sugar together in a bowl. After the skewers are ready cut the chicken into strips then thread them on skewers.
  • Step 3
    Brush the Yakitori sauce on the chicken and place on a grill. Keep brushing the sauce on the chicken and turning for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Remove from grill and garnish with scallions.
