grilled chicken shawarma with yogurt tahini sauce
Get out your favorite shawarma seasoning mix and grill up some delicious chicken shawarma. Serve with chopped tomatoes/cucumber and yogurt tahini sauce. Great with a flour tortilla or your choice of flatbreads. Prep/grill time does not include marinating time.

Ingredients
- 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- Shawarma seasoning of your choice
- olive oil
- YOGURT TAHINI SAUCE
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1/3 cup plain full-fat yogurt
- 2-3 tablespoons Tahini sauce
- 2 medium garlic cloves, pressed (or more to taste)
- salt & pepper
- VEGGIE TOPPING
- 2 roma tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 English cucumber, chopped
- purple onion, chopped (if desired)
- chopped parsley or cilantro
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- salt and pepper
How To Make grilled chicken shawarma with yogurt tahini sauce

Step 1Pat dry chicken thighs and generously sprinkle with Shawarma seasoning. Place chicken in a Ziploc baggie and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

Step 2Remove thighs from the bag and sprinkle with olive oil to prevent sticking on the grill. Grill until thighs are cooked through and remove. Slice chicken across the grain into strips and cover to keep warm.

Step 3Add yogurt/Tahini sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Set aside until ready to eat.

Step 4Chop tomatoes, cucumber (I scrape out the seeds before chopping), and onion (if using). Add salt and pepper to taste and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Step 5Add sauce to flatbread and then add chicken strips and tomato/cucumber mix - add additional sauce to top, if desired. Roll up flatbread or tortilla and enjoy.
