general tso's chicken

I got this recipe from a cooking site! It was posted by one of my favorite cooks known as Marky90...I love every recipe of her's that I've tried! This is a gem! Its so tasty and easy to make! I was making this about twice a month! I changed a few things...such as the name of the recipe and I added broccoli and used chicken instead of pork. The photo is my own.

Ingredients

  • 4 - chicken cutlets - cut into bite size pieces
  • 3/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • - corn oil - for frying
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce - not light
  • 6 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons orange marmalade
  • 10 ounces frozen broccoli florets - thawed
  • 2 - green onions - white & green parts - chopped

How To Make general tso's chicken

  • Step 1
    In a shallow dish, combine panko bread crumbs, seasoned salt, dry mustard and black pepper.
  • Step 2
    Dredge chicken pieces in the bread crumb mixture.
  • Step 3
    Heat oil in a large non stick skillet. Just enough oil to pan fry all the chicken.
  • Step 4
    Fry chicken pieces in batches til browned on both sides!
  • Step 5
    Remove from pan and set aside. When all the pieces are browned, drain remaining oil from skillet.
  • Step 6
    In a small bowl mix together water, soy sauce, ketchup and orange marmalade.
  • Step 7
    Return all the browned chicken pieces to the skillet and pour the soy sauce mixture on top. Then top with the thawed broccoli florets. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
  • Step 8
    Serve over white rice with chopped green onions.
