  • 2 medium
    rotisserie chicken, skinned and shredded or 5 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 1 Tbsp
    grated ginger
  • 4 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    sesame oil
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 c
    chicken stock
  • 1/2 c
    soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    chinese black vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    hoisin sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili garlic sauce
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
  • ·
    shredded red cabbage, green onions, bean sprouts, shredded carrots, chopped cilantro, and toasted sesame seeds
  • ·
    favorite taco shells or boats

How to Make General Tao's Asian Taco's


  1. Shred the chicken and set aside. Mix the chicken stock, soy sauce, vinegar, hoisin sauce, garlic chili sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch and set aside. Place the Sesame oil in a large wok or skillet. Add the ginger and garlic and saute for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the wine and bring to a boil and let most evaporate. Whisk in the chicken stock mixture into the pan until thickened. Add the chicken and stir cooking until warmed through
  3. Place in or on taco shells and top with cabbage, green onions, carrots, cilantro and sesame seeds.
