I received this recipe many years ago from a friend and it was one of the best dishes! Delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    paprika
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    thyme, dried
  • 6
    chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, cold
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1/2 c
    chicken broth
  • 4 Tbsp
    lime juice

How to Make Garlic Lime Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. In a bowl, mix together first 7 ingredients. Evenly sprinkle mixture on both sides of chicken breasts.
  2. In a skillet heat butter and olive oil together over medium high heat. Sauté chicken until golden brown on each side, about 5 minutes on either side. Remove chicken and add lime juice and chicken broth to the pan, whisking up the browned bits off the bottom of the pan. Keep cooking until sauce has reduced slightly. Add chicken back to the pan to thoroughly coat and serve.
  3. Per Serving: 343 Calories; 11g Fat (31.1% calories from fat); 55g Protein; 2g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 147mg Cholesterol; 612mg Sodium. Exchanges: 0 Grain(Starch); 7 1/2 Lean Meat; 0 Fruit; 1 1/2 Fat.
  4. NOTE: I found when making this dish that the seasoning mixture does not go far. I make up a quadruple batch when I make this and just store any I have left over. it is also good on fish.
