This was my grandma's (GaGa) recipe. She gave me several basic recipes when I got married. It's so easy and my family always loved it.

  • 6 - 8
chicken pieces (whatever you like, i used to use a whole cut-up chicken)
  • 1 pkg
    dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 - 1/2 c
    7up (or any clear soda)

How to Make GaGa's 7Up Chicken

  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
  2. Rinse chicken and pat dry. Arrange in 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with dry onion soup mix. Cover with foil and bake in 500 degree oven for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from oven & reduce temp to 350 degrees. Carefully remove foil. Drizzle chicken with 7Up, careful not to wash off the soup mix. Cover & return to oven. Bake for 45 minutes.
  4. You can substitue white wine for the 7Up. And you can make a gravy out of the plentiful pan juice (although I'm not the best gravy maker).
