This was my grandma's (GaGa) recipe. She gave me several basic recipes when I got married. It's so easy and my family always loved it.

Ingredients For gaga's 7up chicken

  • 6 - 8
chicken pieces (whatever you like, i used to use a whole cut-up chicken)
  • 1 pkg
    dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 - 1/2 c
    7up (or any clear soda)

How To Make gaga's 7up chicken

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
  • 2
Rinse chicken and pat dry. Arrange in 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with dry onion soup mix. Cover with foil and bake in 500 degree oven for 15 minutes.
  • 3
Remove from oven & reduce temp to 350 degrees. Carefully remove foil. Drizzle chicken with 7Up, careful not to wash off the soup mix. Cover & return to oven. Bake for 45 minutes.

You can substitue white wine for the 7Up. And you can make a gravy out of the plentiful pan juice (although I'm not the best gravy maker). Enjoy!
