Really tasty. Can be grilled but soak the skewers for 30 minutes first.

Ingredients

  • 8 - boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 3 tablespoons shaoxing wine
  • 1 - lemon juiced
  • 1 cup sprite
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 4 - scallions thinly sliced

How To Make filipino chicken bbq skewers

  • Step 1
    Cut each of the thighs in half. Mix the remaining ingredients except cornstarch, water and scallions together and pour over the thighs. Marinate in refrigerator overnight.
  • Step 2
    Preheat the oven at 350 degrees.Place the chicken thighs on 8 skewers. Pour the marinade in a saucepan and bring to a boil reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes. Mix the cornstarch and water turn the heat back up and bring back to a boil and stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken.
  • Step 3
    Baste the chicken with the sauce. Bake the skewers for 15 minutes turning once and basting with the sauce. Serve the remaining sauce over the skewers and garnish with scallions.
