Ingredients
- CHICKEN AND MARINADE
- 4 large bone in chicken thighs
- 8 cloves garlic minced
- 1/3 cup soy sauce and white vinegar
- 3 bay leaves
- FOR THE COOKING
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons coarse black pepper
- FOR SERVING
- 2 green onions chopped
How To Make filipino chicken adobo

Step 1Mix the soy sauce, vinegar, garlic and bay leaves together. Add the chicken and let marinate overnight.

Step 2Add the oil to a large skillet. Remove the chicken from the marinade and reserve the marinade. Brown the chicken on both sides for about 5 minutes each side. Remove from pan and set aside. Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened.

Step 3Add the water, brown sugar, black pepper and marinade to the pan and bring to a boil. Add the chicken back to the pan and let cook until the sauce is reduced and thicken like a glaze. Remove the bay leaves and discard

Step 4Serve the chicken with the sauce and garnish with green onions,
