Ingredients
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 1 - chicken (or 4-6 breasts plus 4 thighs)
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 4 tablespoons oil
- 1 cup ice water
- - salt
- - pepper
- - poultry seasoning
How To Make favorite chicken and dumplings

Step 1Boil the chicken in water seasoned with the salt, pepper and poultry seasoning for 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until chicken is very tender.

Step 2Remove boiled chicken from pot, set aside, and reserve about 8 cups of the broth.

Step 3In a large bowl, mix flour, oil and ice water just until everything is incorporated. Roll half of the dough out thin and slice into strips. Drop small chunks of the strips into BOILING broth. Repeat with other half of the dough, stirring with a fork every once in a while to prevent sticking.

Step 4Cook 35-40 minutes, stirring often, or until the dumplings are no longer "doughy". Turn heat to low and then off.
