easy indian chicken curry

India loves curries and so do I. There are numerous ways to prepare curries with the same ingredients. E.g. There can be not less than 40-50 ways to prepare Chicken curries or Fish curries or any vegetarian curries. I prepared chicken curry today which I would like to share. [Note: I have used potato in the curry which is optional]

Ingredients

  • 6-8 - chicken pieces (big)
  • 4 tablespoons oil / butter
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • - salt to taste
  • 2 - green chilli
  • 1/2 cup water, boiling
  • FOR THE MASALA (PASTE)
  • 1 - onion, medium size
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 - tomato
  • 1 teaspoon cardamon, ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, fresh

How To Make easy indian chicken curry

  • Step 1
    Ground everything for MASALA to a smooth paste.
  • Step 2
    Marinate Chicken in that masala for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Heat oil / Butter and add arinated chicken with the paste. Add salt, turmeric powder and cook till oil separates which is important indication that the masala is being cooked properly.
  • Step 4
    Add green chilli [optional] and 1/2 cup of water and cook till it boils. Serve with white rice or bread.
