easy cordon bleu casserole

I started out with a Chicken and Dumpling Casserole and it evolved into a my Cordon Bleu Casserole ... a family favorite! I enjoy making this meal for our church's meal ministry. This and a salad makes the perfect comfort food meal!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 - rotisserie chicken, deboned
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed ham
  • 1 - head of broccoli florets
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded swiss or mexican blend cheese
  • 2 cups bisquick mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup, condensed

How To Make easy cordon bleu casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400*F.
  • Step 2
    Steam broccoli in the microwave with 1 Tbsp water for 4 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Melt butter in a 13"x9" baking dish.
  • Step 4
    Evenly spread deboned chicken over bottom of the baking dish.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle chopped ham evenly over chicken.
  • Step 6
    Sprinkle steamed broccoli evenly over ham.
  • Step 7
    Sprinkle cheese evenly over broccoli.
  • Step 8
    In one bowl, whisk together Bisquick and milk. In another bowl, whisk together chicken broth and soup.
  • Step 9
    Pour Bisquick mixture evenly over casserole.
  • Step 10
    Pour chicken broth mixture over the top.
  • Step 11
    Place in the oven right away and bake for 50 minutes or until golden brown on top. (I learned the hard way not to assemble this dish and let it set! LOL It just does NOT bake up right!)
