    canola oil

    juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 Tbsp
    red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy saucce
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • BBQ SAUCE

  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    each liquid smoke, dry mustard, paprika, and chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper

How to Make Down Home Southern BBQ Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix the ingredients together for the marinade. Add the chicken and marinate 4 to 6 hours. Mix the ingredients together for the BBQ sauce.
  2. Remove the chicken from the marinade. Grill or bake the chicken basting with the BBQ sauce until chicken is done.
