diane's citrus baked turkey[or chicken]

my dad lives in fl he sent me a box of tangerines for x-mas..well they started to "get old".... so i asked hubby how to use them...we came up with this recipe...turkey is thawing in fridge now...gonna make this tomorrow

Ingredients
- 1 - whole turkkey[10-12 pounds]
- 1 stick margarine,room temp
- 1 teaspoon dried orange peel
- 1 teaspoon fresh tangarine peel
- 1 teaspoon dried onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried celery leaves
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 pinch sage, dried
- 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- - coarse sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
- - juice of several tangarines
- 2 medium onions...1/4ed
- - several tangarines
How To Make diane's citrus baked turkey[or chicken]

Step 1make sure turkey is thawed completly...rinse and pat dry bird...set aside

Step 2in small bowl mix margarine and next 9 things[if need be add a T of olive oil]

Step 3take some of spice mix and sprinkle on inside of bird... than place a tangarine inside than the 1/4ed onion...another tangarine if room......now rub rest of spice mix all over bird and under skin

Step 4place bird on rack in roasttin pan put juice in pan as well as several whole tangarines[have enough juice so fruit floats]

Step 5have oven preheated to 450... place turkey in middle of oven....cook 15 min then drop temp to 325....cook 16 min per pound... baste bird several times with pan drippings.........cook til 165 on meat thermonetor...remove from oven let reast 15-20 min then slice and enjoy......
