Dee Tourville

A friend on DEATH ROW, sent me this recipe...............kidding!
I was looking for a sauce that could be used on chicken, pork or beef. I found this in a cook book of sauces quite awhile ago.

2 Tbsp
vegetable oil
1/2 c

1 clove

2 c
1/2 c
bourbon, divided
1/4 c
raspberry vinegar
1/4 c
worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp
2 Tbsp

2 Tbsp
soy sauce
2 Tbsp
hot sauce
1/2 tsp
coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 tsp

1/4 tsp
crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp
liquid smoke (optional)

1In a medium-size saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and saute until tender, about 5 minutes.
2Add the ketchup, 1/4 cup of the whiskey, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, molasses, mustard, soy sauce, hot sauce or Tabasco, black pepper, and cayenne
3Mix thoroughly. Cook for 2 hours in the smoker or add the liquid smoke and simmer for 20 minutes over low heat on the stovetop
4. Stir in the remaining 1/4 cup whiskey. Use as a baste or a finishing and table sauce on pork, beef, and chicken. This sauce also is good in baked beans. It will keep for several weeks in the refrigerator.
