I was searching for a way to make Cornish Hens easily and remember my mother steaming them with Hoisin, so figured this would be easier in the crockpot.

Ingredients

  • 2
    cornish game hens
  • 1/4 c
    honey
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce, dark
  • 1/4 c
    hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 c
    chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp
    ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    orange zest

How to Make Crockpot Hoisin Cornish Game Hens

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix each of the sauces into a small bowl along with the ginger and zest.
  2. Place Cornish Hens into crock pot set on high heat
  3. Pour sauce over hens and cover for about 3 hours, basting and turning hens every so often.
  4. Serve! I paired this with a basmati rice I'd sauteed in garlic and butter before cooking in chicken broth. Then I added scallions to the rice to finish.
