This recipe was given to me by my sister-in-law, she had not tried it but was going to soon.
I prepared this dish last night. This dish was easy to prepare, flavorful and delicious.
My husband said this recipe was a keeper.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


  • 6
    skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 lb
    lean smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2
    green bell peppers, coarsely chopped
  • 1 c
    sliced celery
  • 1
    (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 tsp
    chicken flavored bouillion granules
  • 4
    bay leaves
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 2 c
    instant rice

How to Make Crock-Pot Cajun Dinner


  1. Rinse the chicken and pat dry.
  2. Spray a 4-quart Crock with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Place sausage, peppers, onions, celery, tomatoes, bouillion, bay leaves and garlic powder.
  4. Stir to blend well.
  5. Top with the chicken breasts and sprinkle with black pepper.
  6. Cover and cook for 8 hours or until the chicken is done and the vegetables are tender.
  7. Add in the rice.
  8. Stir gently and thoroughly to blend.
  9. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender.
  10. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
