Yes, I know...40 cloves of garlic sounds crazy but it is delicious. The more the garlic cooks, the sweeter the taste. A friend gave me this recipe years ago...it has been around "forever". It is really a tasty recipe. It is great served with a nice salad and your favorite hot bread. Very comforting.....

Ingredients
- 3 pounds chicken pieces
- - salt & pepper, for seasoning
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 teaspoons parsley
- 2 teaspoons basil, dried
- 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
- 40 cloves garlic, peeled (yes, 40) i buy the pre-peeled garlic
- 4 - ribs celery, sliced
- 3 pounds new, red potatoes or fingerling potatoes, scrubbed but not peeled
- 1 can cream of chicken/mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup water
How To Make crock pot - 40 clove chicken

Step 1Season chicken with salt & pepper.

Step 2Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat; brown chicken on all sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Step 3In a medium bowl, combine soup, water, parsley, basil and oregano. Mix well.

Step 4Add garlic, celery and potatoes into the soup mixture; stir to coat well. Then place them into the crock pot with slotted spoon.

Step 5Add chicken to remaining soup mixture; stir to coat well. Place chicken on top of celery/potato mixture. Pour soup mixture over chicken.

Step 6Cover and cook on LOW 6 hours.
