Well this was a winner. I got a two thumbs up on this one and it will be in high rotation I'm sure. I recreated fried chicken with a little zing from the onions. I think I may try it with smashed Cap'n Crunch cereal one day.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon whole grain mustard
  • 1 large french fried onions package
  • 6 - chicken thighs, skinless or 4 boneless skinless breasts.

How To Make crispy onion unfried chicken

  • Step 1
In a small wide mouth bowl, combine butter, worcestershire sauce and mustard. Crush the fried onions into a separate bowl. (This will be your breading)
  • Step 2
Dip chicken in butter mixture, then coat with onions. Prepare a baking dish with olive oil (I use a cast iron skillet); Put the coated chicken pieces into the skillet and drizzle the remaining butter over the chicken.
  • Step 3
Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 40 minutes or until chicken is cooked through
