crispy cheddar chicken
This chicken dish is quick and easy and delish! I do these a little differently than most. Can use Ritz crackers but I like the bread crumbs as I like to taste the cheddar cheese. I also like the texture of the bread crumbs better. I also do not use eggs to dip the chicken in. By the way, it is very kid-friendly. By the way, I am guesstimating the amounts as I just throw this together. :)
Blue Ribbon Recipe
If you're looking for an easy kid-friendly dinner, try this crispy cheddar chicken. The chicken breasts have a crispy and cheesy exterior with a satisfying crunch from the bread crumbs. We've seen this recipe with crackers, but we liked the texture and lighter flavor from the bread crumbs. It lets the cheddar cheese flavor more prominent. Drizzled over top is a lovely and easy creamy sauce for even more flavor.

- 1 cup milk
- 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make crispy cheddar chicken
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Slice chicken breasts into three pieces. This will help your chicken cook quickly and make it easy to serve the children.
-
Step 2Gather three pans or dishes to fill with the milk, sharp cheddar, and bread crumbs. Add the salt, pepper, and garlic salt to the bread crumbs and mix.
-
Step 3Dip chicken pieces in the milk first.
-
Step 4Then roll in the cheese.
-
Step 5Gently with your hands sprinkle the bread crumbs all over the chicken to cover.
-
Step 6Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place chicken on the parchment paper.
-
Step 7Sprinkle the tops of the chicken with parsley.
-
Step 8Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and juice runs clear.
-
Step 9The time depends on the size of the chicken pieces so watch closely.
-
Step 10Prepare the sauce by mixing the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and butter in a small saucepan until hot. I add a little pepper to the sauce.
-
Step 11Spoon over the chicken. Serve with your choice of potatoes, pasta, or rice for a side.
