creamy italian chicken and noodles

My family loves this! It has a rich but mild Italian flavor. Good comfort food!

Ingredients

  • 3 medium boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, extra virgin
  • - salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley or 1 tablespoon chopped, fresh
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 package pasta ribbons or egg noodles
  • 3 tablespoons butter

How To Make creamy italian chicken and noodles

  • Step 1
    Cut chicken breasts into bite sized pieces. In a large skillet over medium heat; heat butter and olive oil. Add onions, garlic and chicken. Cook and stir until onions are transparent and chicken is almost done.
  • Step 2
    Add to chicken the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and parsley. Stir in the cream of chicken soup, water, cream or milk, wine and bouillon granules. Bring to boil; reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered for about 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Step 3
    While mixture simmers; cook the noodles according to the package directions. Drain the noodles and stir in the butter. ( I added some fresh chopped green onions and shredded parmesan to my noodles)
  • Step 4
    Serve chicken mixture on top of noodles. Enjoy!
