Creamy Chicken in mushroom gravy and Dumplings
1 3 lbchicken or 3 chicken breasts
·salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cdry white wine or chicken broth
1 can(s)cream of mushroom soup
1 can(s)4-ounce can sliced mushrooms,drained
1 csour cream
How to Make Creamy Chicken in mushroom gravy and Dumplings
- Place chicken in crock-pot and season with salt and pepper. Mix wine and soup and pour over chicken. Add mushrooms. Cook on low 7-9-hours or high 3-4 hours.
- Remove chicken and cut into bite size pieces and keep warm. Stir together 1 cup sour cream and 1/4 cup flour. Stir sour cream mixture into mushroom gravy. Add chicken and heat for 30 mins on low.
- Dumplings:8 to 10 slices of white bread. 1 egg, handful of flour, 1 white potato grated, 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 tsp salt. Drop by spoonfuls into boiling water for 15 to 20 mins. Drain with slotted spoon and serve gravy and chicken in soup bowl.
