I just love to have tis recipe over toasted biscuits.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or stock
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 5/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cans (7oz ea.) packed tuna
  • 1 cup peas, cooked
  • 1/2 cup cashews , chopped ; optional

How To Make creamed tuna

  • Step 1
    Melt fat in a large saucepan; stir in flour.
  • Step 2
    Mix in liquids and seasonings.
  • Step 3
    Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened.
  • Step 4
    Add tuna, peas, and almonds. Continue cooking until heated through.
  • Step 5
    Serve hot in patty shells or over toasted waffles or biscuits.
  • Step 6
    note : this can be done with left over chicken also , just add 3 cups cooked chicken , 1/2 teas. salt , 1/2 teas. garlic powder and swap almond with the cashews.
