How to Make Country Fried Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. Add the flour and spices together. Place in a ziploc bag.
  2. Dry the chicken breasts with paper towels. Combine the buttermilk and hot pepper sauce.
  3. Dredge the chicken breasts in the buttermilk. Place the chicken, one breast at a time, in the flour mixture. Place on a plate. Dip the chicken into the buttermilk again, and flour again.
  4. Put the prepared chicken in hot oil (around 350 degrees) and allow to brown well on each side. Drain on paper towels or a brown paper bag. Allow to sit for about 5 minutes to cool and so the juices will not run.
