I love to keep flavored butters in the freezer for using on fish, meats, and vegetables. I found this recipe not long ago and was able to make it up because my chives are doing extra well this year.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick
    unsalted butter
  • 4 Tbsp
    chives, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    lime or lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp
    sea salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    garlic, minced

How to Make Chive Butter

Step-by-Step

  1. Set butter out and let soften.
  2. Add all ingredients and mix well.
  3. Place on a sheet of wax paper and shape into a roll. Place the roll on a sheet of foil and store in refrigerator or freeze. Cut off a slice to add to your dish.
  4. For the recipe I used 2 sticks of butter and doubled the other ingredients.
