  • 3
    boneless skinless chicken thighs cut into pieces
  • 1 Tbsp
    shaoxing wine
  • 2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp

  • 2 Tbsp
    black bean sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    shaoxing wine
  • 1 Tbsp
    oyster sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper

  • 2 Tbsp
    peanut oil
  • 1 tsp
    grated ginger
  • 6 clove
    garlic minced
  • 3 small
    shallots diced
  • ·
    green onion and cilantro chopped for garnish

How to Make Chinese Chicken in Black Bean Sauce


  1. Combine the chicken with the marinade and set aside.
    Combine the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
  2. Add one tbsp oil to a large skillet or wok. Add the chicken to the oil in a single layer and let brown on one side. Flip the chicken and brown on the other. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. Add the other tbsp of oil to the pan and add the shallot, ginger and garlic. Saute 1 minute. Add the sauce. Give it a stir then add back the chicken. Cook about 1 minute until sauce thickens. garnish with green onion and cilantro and serve over rice.
