How To Make chicken with red and green peppers
-
Step 1This recipe can be made without the peppers You create a great chicken dish with a wonderful sauce to be spooned over rice.
-
Step 2In a dutch oven, brown the chicken pieces (on both sides) in oil. When nearly browned, add about 1/2 cup of soy sauce and about 1/4 cup or a bit more of water. Turn the chicken pieces over and add more water, if necessary.
-
Step 3Cook for about 30 mins. more. Check to make sure the chicken is done by piercing it with a fork. If it is tender and falling of the bone, it's done !
-
Step 4To make the sauce, remove the chicken from the pan. In a small dish mix 2 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of COLD water. Add 4 tablespoons of ketchup and about 4 tablespoons of sugar. Stir this into the gravy mixture in the dutch oven and keep stirring. The cornstarch will thicken the gravy. Return the chicken to the dutch oven to heat though.
-
Step 5Serve with rice.
