chicken with onions and garlic

This recipe has a lot of Middle Eastern flair! I found this on the web. It was posted by a cook known as Joe1155. The first time I made this I fell in love with it! Its creamy and a little spicy! It goes perfectly with potatoes or rice and naan bread! I'm posting this recipe the way I made it and adding my photo.

Ingredients

  • 2 - boneless, skinless chicken cutlets, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 large onion-sliced thin
  • 4 - cloves garlic-chopped
  • 2 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons fenugreek leaves-dried (a must)**see note
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper-use the larger amount if you like it spicy
  • 4 tablespoons low fat cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - **note...the only place i was able to find this spice was in a indo/pak grocery store. if you can't find this ingredient then use 2 tbls. of fresh celery leaves-chopped fine.

How To Make chicken with onions and garlic

  • Step 1
    Heat oil in a pan over medium high. Add olive oil, onions and garlic. Sautee gently until tender with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 2
    Add the cumin and fenugreek and cook until fragrant.
  • Step 3
    Add the chicken slices and let brown.
  • Step 4
    Add chicken broth and cream cheese. Mix until smooth.
  • Step 5
    Serve over rice or potatoes, with naan bread to soak up the creamy sauce.
