Ingredients

  • 1 large chicken
  • 1 - celery stalk
  • 1 small onion, quartered
  • 4 - sprigs fresh parsley
  • 2 - whole cloves
  • 1 - carrots, peeled and quartered
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • - water
  • SAUCE INGREDIENTS
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley

How To Make chicken with cream sauce

  • Step 1
    Put the chicken in the crockpot and cover with water.
  • Step 2
    Add celery, carrot, onion and salt.
  • Step 3
    Tie parsley, bay leaf, cloves and thyme in a small square of cheese cloth, add to the pot.
  • Step 4
    Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours.
  • Step 5
    Melt 4 tablespoons butter in a medium saucepan.
  • Step 6
    Stir in flour and cook over low heat for several mins.
  • Step 7
    Gradually stir in stock.
  • Step 8
    Simmer until smooth.
  • Step 9
    Add salt, pepper, parsley and cream.
  • Step 10
    Remove chicken from pot, slice and serve with the creamy sauce.
