My absolute FAVORITE indian dish! Tried this recipe and stuck with it! Sooo yummy on cold or hot days! If you don't like too much spice, omit the jalapeno. Also, serve with Jasmine rice, and Naan (indian flat bread)which is easy to find at stores!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yogurt, plain
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, fresh
  • 4 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 3 - boneless, skinnless chicken breasts, cut into bite sized pieces.

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 - jalapeno peppers, finely chopped and seeded
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1- 8oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • - salt to taste

How To Make chicken tikka masala

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, 2 tsp cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper, ginger and salt. Stir in chicken pieces, cover and refrigerate for approximately 1 hour.
  • Step 2
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Thread marinated chicken onto skewers and discard marinade. Bake in oven for 20 minutes. (Chicken will finish off on the stovetop.)
  • Step 3
    Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute garlic and jalapeno for 1 minute. Season with 2 tsp cumin, paprila and salt. Stir in tomato sauce and cream. Simmer on low hear until sauce thickens, about 20 minutes. Add chicken and simmer for another 10 minutes. Garnish with cilantro.
