Ingredients
- 4 bone in chicken thighs
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/4 cups chicken stock
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- salt and pepper
- FOR THE POPPY SEED DUMPLINGS
- 1 cup cake flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- fresh thyme for garnish
How To Make chicken thighs with poppy seed dumplings

Step 1Place a skillet over med. high heat and melt the butter. Add the thighs and season with salt and pepper. Brown the thighs on both sides. About 5 minutes each side. Remove to a plate

Step 2Add the onion and garlic and saute about 5 minutes. Add the flour cook about 2 minutes. Add the wine and chicken broth. Cook 1 minutes. Add the milk and bring to a boil. Add the chicken back to the pan turn the heat to med. low and cover the pan and let simmer about 30 minutes. Until the chicken is almost done.

Step 3Meanwhile mix the cake flour, baking powder, salt, poppy seeds, eggs and buttermilk. Drop by teaspoons on top of the chicken mixture. Cook for 10 minutes. Cover and cook another 10 minutes. Serve chicken with the dumplings and gravy and garnish with thyme
