chicken spareribs
This recipe belongs to a cook named Upstatevoyager. He's not sure where the recipe name came from, but when I tried it I cut the chicken to resemble ribs, as you can see in my photo. I tried this recipe and loved it! The brown sauce on this chicken tastes just like the sauce in the chicken w/broccoli dish that you get at Chinese restaurants! The last time I made this I added sauteed broccoli and served it over white rice!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons corn oil
- 3 - boneless skinless chicken cutlets-cut into strips
- 1/2 cup plus 1 tbls. water
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple juice
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
How To Make chicken spareribs

Step 1In large skillet, heat corn oil.

Step 2Brown chicken strips in oil.

Step 3In bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup water, soy sauce, brown sugar, apple juice, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, red pepper flakes and ginger.

Step 4Pour mixture over chicken.

Step 5Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.

Step 6Combine cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water.

Step 7Add to skillet. Cook until thickened.
