Ingredients

  • - pat of butter
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 1 2/3 cups rice, cooked
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 cups chicken, cooked and chopped
  • 1 package slivered almonds (small package)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 stick butter
  • 1 cup corn flakes, crushed

How To Make chicken rice casserole

  • Step 1
    In small skillet, saute celery and onion in butter to soften.
  • Step 2
    In separate pan, cook rice according to package directions to get 1 2/3 cup of cooked rice.
  • Step 3
    Mix sauted celery, onion, rice and all other ingredients.
  • Step 4
    Butter a 9x13" casserole dish; spoon mixture into dish.
  • Step 5
    Melt 1/4 stick butter with 1 cup crushed corn flakes. Pour over top of casserole.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
