Ingredients

  • ·
    pat of butter
  • 1 c
    diced celery
  • 1 Tbsp
    chopped onion
  • 1 2/3 c
    rice, cooked
  • 1 can(s)
    sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 1/2 c
    mayo
  • 2 c
    chicken, cooked and chopped
  • 1 pkg
    slivered almonds (small package)
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 stick
    butter
  • 1 c
    corn flakes, crushed

How to Make Chicken Rice Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. In small skillet, saute celery and onion in butter to soften.
  2. In separate pan, cook rice according to package directions to get 1 2/3 cup of cooked rice.
  3. Mix sauted celery, onion, rice and all other ingredients.
  4. Butter a 9x13" casserole dish; spoon mixture into dish.
  5. Melt 1/4 stick butter with 1 cup crushed corn flakes. Pour over top of casserole.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
