chicken pot pie
After mom died, dad did a lot of more simple cooking for dinner time. Working full time, taking care of a young daughter and the house, it was hard to suddenly do alone. So we ate pot pies together, and it became a memory of time spent with dad. Maybe that is why I like pot pies to this day. This is my homemade recipe.

Ingredients
- 15 ounces refrigerated pie crust (i only use pillsbury)
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 2/3 cup milk
- 3 cups turkey or chicken, cooked and shredded
- 2 cups mixed frozen vegetables
How To Make chicken pot pie

Step 1Oven to 425 degrees. Line 1 crust into 9" pie pan. Melt butter, cook onion until tender, add flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add broth and milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Add remaining ingredients. Spoon into crust, top with second crust. Seal and pierce with holes in a few places. Bake 30-40 min or until golden. Let stand 5 min.
