Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken, boned and skinless cut in very thin strips
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 cup carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup celery stalks, sliced
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 can water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 package chinese pea pods
  • SAUCE INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

How To Make chicken & pea pods

  • Step 1
    Mix chicken, cornstarch, soy sauce and sherry.
  • Step 2
    In skillet, heat 1 tablespoon oil over high heat.
  • Step 3
    Stir in garlic and ginger.
  • Step 4
    Add chicken and stir fry until no longer pink.
  • Step 5
    Remove.
  • Step 6
    In remaining oil, stir fry carrots and celery 1 minute.
  • Step 7
    Add green onions and stir fry 30 seconds.
  • Step 8
    Add water chestnuts and pea pods.
  • Step 9
    Stir sauce and add to vegetables.
  • Step 10
    Cook, stirring until boiling.
  • Step 11
    Return chicken to pan and heat through.
  • Step 12
    Sauce: Mix ingredients over medium heat in small saucepan.
  • Step 13
    Pour over chicken.
