chicken, boned and skinless cut in very thin strips
1/2 tsp
1 Tbsp
soy sauce
1 Tbsp
dry sherry
1 tsp
garlic clove, minced
1/2 Tbsp
1 tsp
1/2 c
carrots, peeled and sliced
1/2 c
celery stalks, sliced
1/2 c
green onions, chopped
1 can(s)
water chestnuts, drained
1 pkg
chinese pea pods


1/2 c
chicken broth
2 Tbsp
soy sauce
1 Tbsp
1 tsp

How to Make Chicken & Pea Pods


  • 1Mix chicken, cornstarch, soy sauce and sherry.
  • 2In skillet, heat 1 tablespoon oil over high heat.
  • 3Stir in garlic and ginger.
  • 4Add chicken and stir fry until no longer pink.
  • 5Remove.
  • 6In remaining oil, stir fry carrots and celery 1 minute.
  • 7Add green onions and stir fry 30 seconds.
  • 8Add water chestnuts and pea pods.
  • 9Stir sauce and add to vegetables.
  • 10Cook, stirring until boiling.
  • 11Return chicken to pan and heat through.
  • 12Sauce: Mix ingredients over medium heat in small saucepan.
  • 13Pour over chicken.
