Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    chicken, boned and skinless cut in very thin strips
  • 1/2 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    dry sherry
  • 1 tsp
    garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    oil
  • 1 tsp
    ginger
  • 1/2 c
    carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 c
    celery stalks, sliced
  • 1/2 c
    green onions, chopped
  • 1 can(s)
    water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 pkg
    chinese pea pods
  • SAUCE INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 c
    chicken broth
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 tsp
    sugar

How to Make Chicken & Pea Pods

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix chicken, cornstarch, soy sauce and sherry.
  2. In skillet, heat 1 tablespoon oil over high heat.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger.
  4. Add chicken and stir fry until no longer pink.
  5. Remove.
  6. In remaining oil, stir fry carrots and celery 1 minute.
  7. Add green onions and stir fry 30 seconds.
  8. Add water chestnuts and pea pods.
  9. Stir sauce and add to vegetables.
  10. Cook, stirring until boiling.
  11. Return chicken to pan and heat through.
  12. Sauce: Mix ingredients over medium heat in small saucepan.
  13. Pour over chicken.
