Authentic recipe. No tomatoes here, that belongs in the stew. The dumplings with this are delicious. Hope everyone enjoys this as much as I do.

Ingredients

chicken, cut up
salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp
hungarian paprika
1 Tbsp
lard
1
large onion, chopped
1 Tbsp
flour
1 c
water
1
yellow pepper, chopped
1-2 Tbsp
sour cream

How to Make Chicken paprikash

Step-by-Step

  • 1Season chicken with salt
  • 2cut up onion into small pieces and lightly cook it in lard. Slightly sprinkle the onions with paprika.
  • 3Add cut up chicken, and some water. Stir it well.
  • 4Add yellow peppers and some paprika. Salt and sauté in a covered pot. Add water as needed while the meat softens.
  • 5On the side. Mix flour and sour cream. Then add it to the chicken and bring it to a boil once more.
  • 6You can also serve this with mashed potatoes instead of dumplings but I like the dumplings
