Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken, broiler-fryer
  • 2 - celery ribs, sliced
  • 2 - chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

How To Make chicken mushroom pasta sauce

  • Step 1
    Place fryer in crock-pot with celery, onions and salt and combine chicken broth with tomato paste and pour over ingredients in crock-pot.
  • Step 2
    Add sherry, oregano and mushrooms; stir to moisten all ingredients.
  • Step 3
    Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 3 1/2 to 5 hours.
  • Step 4
    Remove chicken; bone meat and dice.
  • Step 5
    Return meat to crock-pot.
  • Step 6
    Knead butter and flour together and add with cream; stir well.
  • Step 7
    Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours or on low for 3 to 5 hours.
